Hi, my 17 year old daughter has done her drivers lessons and waited the 6 months with her permit. Her mother and I are practicing with her often in various driving environments and we feel that she is responsible enough to get her license. She is scheduled for her DMV test next week. When she passes & gets her license, can she drive her sister to school? She is a good kid and a good driver and this would make things alot easier for our morning routine! Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

On page 55 of the California Driver Handbook, there is a description of how to go about this. Here is the link to the handbook: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/dl600.pdf. I think it is also a good idea to contact your local law enforcement agency and ask them how they are enforcing this issue, because I have heard conflicting reports from different departments.
